5 Afrolatinas Para Conocer
La cultura latinoamericana está compuesta del mestizaje y el sincretismo de las raíces indígenas, negras, y europeas. Como vivimos en un mundo donde reina la supremacía blanca, historicamente se han suprimido las identidades negras e indígenas latinoamericanas, en gran parte por el racismo interno que se encuentra en nuestras culturas como consecuencia de la colonización. En este zine te presentaremos brevemente a 5 Afrolatinas para conocer, por si no las conocías. Esperemos que ellas provoquen tu interés en querer conocerlas, y sus trabajos más, y en seguir explorando las profundidades de la herencia y la cultura viva afrodescendiente en latinoamérica.
The Latino-american culture is composed of racial blending known as “mestizaje '' and sincretism of the Black, Indigenous, and european roots. Since we live in a world ruled by white supremacy, the Black and Indigenous identities have historically been suppressed, in large part because of the internalized racism found in our cultures as a consequence of colonization. In this zine we will briefly introduce you to 5 Afrolatinas To Know, in case you didn’t already know them. We hope that they provoke your interest in wanting to get to know more of them and their work, and to keep exploring the depths of the afrodescendente legacy and living culture in Latino-america.
